Stan Berkage, one of the greatest American experimental filmmakers, was known for his colour films, in which he painted directly on the film reels. In this film, Barkage’s hand-painted celluloid is taken by Philip Solomon, who breathed life into it with traditional optical print cinematic effects. The result is a symphony of flickering colours and fascinating textures, a dance of light and imagination that is a joint product of two of the greatest creators of American avant-garde cinema.
