Set in the 1970’s and ‘80s, June and Jennifer Gibbons are twins from the only black family in a small town in Wales. Feeling isolated from the community, the pair turn inward and reject communication with everyone but each other, retreating into their own fantasy world of inspiration and adolescent desires. There they find inspiration for writing and dream of becoming famous writers. But slowly, their inner world leads to trouble, where they face the choice to separate and survive or die together.

This screening is in partnership with the Polish Zoom Festival - an annual film review promoting the best of Polish contemporary and classic cinema. Typically, the programme features eight titles: five or six most interesting films of the past season and two or three classics of Polish cinema. The event is organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Polish Institute in Tel Aviv in collaboration with the Cinematheque network of studio cinemas. The first edition of the festival took place in 2019.

A Q&A will follow the screening, moderated by Elite Zexer
