Short on the Way 2025
Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival. The project aims to support young filmmakers at the beginning of their professional careers as they work towards their first feature films.
This year's theme for submissions is “Broken,” inspired by the events of October 7, 2023 — a day that left deep fractures in hearts, homes, and everyday life. In light of the trauma, loss, and uncertainty that followed, we chose to create a space for reflection on both personal and collective rupture through cinema.
Independent filmmakers from across the country were invited to submit proposals for short films that engage creatively with the theme of “Broken” and its impact on reality. Out of all the submissions received, A limited selection of the top film projects were awarded development grants and selected to participate in the program.
During the festival, these six filmmakers will present their projects in a special pitching event to a panel of judges, industry professionals, and the general public. One project will be awarded a production grant provided by the Gesher Multicultural Film Fund.
The winning project will be announced at the festival's closing night, and the completed film will premiere at the opening night of the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival in 2026.
