Official Selection - Cannes Film Festival 2004, Un Certain Regard
A restrained and cunning work, one of Angela Schanelec’s most renowned films. Sophie, a young photographer from Berlin, exchanges apartments with a student from Marseille. Alone, she dives into the city with her camera. She meets a young mechanic, Pierre, and the two spend time together, captivated by not knowing anything about one another. When she returns to Berlin, she is immediately immersed in her previous life and in the daily stress that now seems foreign to her. Sophie longs to leave and decides to go to Marseille for the second time.
