17-year-old Flora lives with her parents in a small Austrian village. She enjoys going to a dancing school, though she usually sits by herself and is not invited to dance. In secret, she fantasizes about Attila, a self-confident, good-looking young man who is also a great dancer. This is Hausner’s graduation film, which screened at the 6th edition of TISFF. Since then, Hausner has become a mainstay at Cannes (her new film will premiere at this year’s main competition), and is one of the three leading directors of Austrian cinema. Jessica attends the festival this year as our prestigious Guest of Honor.
