In a fictional city, in a timeless setting, on a particularly stormy night, Sarah Bennett arrives at Detective Joe's office. She asks him to find her missing sister. Drunk and dismissive at first, Joe is touched by something in Sarah and agrees to investigate the case, knowing that nothing good will come out of it. Joe continues to investigate the case until he realises that behind all the intrigue stands the city's notorious criminal whom nobody wants to mess with.
