Black Screen – Free Cinema in the Midst of War
What happens to cinema when life itself is rewritten under the reality of war? When the camera remains alert, and reality itself undergoes re-editing? In an era of ongoing disruption—between shifting headlines and daily anxieties—filmmaking becomes an act of resistance, of hope, and of a cry.
TISFF, in collaboration with Shablulim Cinema, is proud to present a selection of short films born from an atmosphere of war, political pressure, social crises, and uncertainty. These are works by young filmmakers who, even as everything around them seems to fall apart, choose to pick up a camera and keep telling stories. These films don’t just speak about freedom of expression—they embody it through their very subversive existence.
