Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival is delighted to team up with NOWNESS and Los Angeles Fashion Film Festival (LAFFF) for the Fashion Film Day Screening on June 12, 2018 at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque. This is the first time the fashion genre is included in the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival, which offers a unique crossover of exposure for both festivals and the NOWNESS platform.

NOWNESS is a digital film platform, considered to be the leader and most influential in the field of video art and fashion films. Nowness was established in 2010 by legendary editor Jefferson Hack, founder and CEO of Dazed Media Group. Each week, three films from the worlds of fashion, art, music, design, food and culture, come up on the platform and receive great exposure. Nowness seeks to provide a platform for exposing young artists in the field, alongside experienced and famous directors and creators. Among the names of those whose work has premiered on Nowness: Bjork, Chloe Sevigny, Carine Roitfeld, David Lynch, David Hockney, and more. In honor of the Tel Aviv International Film Festival, Nowness assembled a special 30-minute collection that presents the unique and avant-garde direction of the leading platform
During the event we will have 3 short film & fashion presentations by:
Rona Doron – award winning costume designer.
Maya Bash – fashion designer, 2 of her fashion films will be screened in the Israeli compilation.
Eyal Nevo – renowned fashion photographer
Short Fashion Film Selection from Los Angeles Fashion Film Festival
Over the last decade, many festivals devoted to fashion films have been introduced around the world from Paris to Berlin, Copenhagen, London and Miami. This year, at the heart of the American film industry, a festival of fashion films will be inaugurated and launched in October 2018. In honor of the Tel Aviv International Film Festival, a fascinating program curated by the festival directors of a variety of fashion films made by renowned international directors, both young and old, will be exposed for the first time in Tel Aviv. The festival in Los Angeles seeks to link the film industry to that of fashion and technology, and connect between artists, directors, and producers in the interest of creating a rich and profound world of content for commercial companies and independent creators.
This special collaboration offers a sneak peek at the upcoming LAFFF debut by featuring six select LAFFF nomination films. By joining forces, we hope to boost international visibility of fashion films as emerging artistic and cultural narratives in our digital era.
