The Next Step – Third Session: Making arthouse films- Komplizen film

“We seek out projects that have a special regional and cultural character, projects that cross borders and encourage us to think beyond boundaries.”

The masterclass will focus on the special connection between director and production company, a sometimes essential ingredient for creating award-winning films. Among the films that will be discussed are Toni Ardmann and Tabo.

Komplizen Film was founded by Janine Jackowski and Maren Ade (Toni Ardmann) during their film studies days. Nowadays, it is one of the most successful production companies in Europe, earning Oscars and prestigious awards around the world. The company’s primary focus is on developing art house feature films, simultaneously managing directors and producers.
