Eleven filmmakers, Israeli and Palestinian, embarked on a journey to create short films, fiction or documentary, inspired by Coffee. Coffee takes part in our cultural identity and social reality. Coffee creates a connection between different people, no matter who they are. Each of the films gives a personal and courageous point of view on the reality in which we live in.

While producing the films, these young filmmakers participated in joint meetings, presented their ideas to one another and started their productions in creative freedom and mixed crews.

The project held several meetings with professional filmmakers together with Israeli and Palestinian Intellectuals, who gave the participants a chance to get to know the different cultures through cinema, poetry and literature. During these meetings, political, cultural and social discussions came up.

Or in other words, some things can only be learned from experience. This year, the Festival is proud to have a brand new and unique project - "One on One" which does this exactly- It Connects young filmmakers with the best of Israel's Film and Television industry in a meeting destined to assist young filmmakers to exercise their talent and find a place in the Documentary and Fictional making.

The chosen filmmakers will meet, within the festival, for a personal hour with a suited coach, and will receive a chance to showcase themselves and their projects before people from the Film and Television industry, that will donate from their knowledge and experience, in the road to make the dream come true.

Between the coaches that have agreed to take part in the project are: Katriel Schori, director of the Israeli Film Fund, Osnat Trabelsi, Producer, and Liran Atzmor, head of content development in channel 8.

Today, the biggest doubters must admit, it's clear which screen captures the eyes at most. Whether if it's surfer's content, half professional content, Television, Documentary, games or Porn, it's on the web and it's one click away- and whenever you want it. The technology, roaming full speed ahead, offers every day platforms, applications and possibilities that gives expression and creations a new stage.

One of the subjects that have become relevant for Israeli Film and Television creators is the place of the web productions. For the first time in Israel, the International Student Film Festival, in collaboration with the Israeli Film Fund, will devote a full study day to the topic of New Media and Cinema. The connection between the two is not obvious and not fully deciphered yet, from the view of it's influence on the language of cinema and how to tell a story, or the financial, distributional side of it. It's also the first time when the leaders in the most advanced trends in the subject, will come to Israel and meet together. Together we'll try to solve the riddle of the connection between those subjects and it's smaller parts. All this is to give participants the tools to integrate in this new, developing field.

This year, we have the distinguished honor of hosting renowned Filmmakers,Roger Corman, who recently won an honorary Oscar. Having produced more than 550 films and directed fifty others, Roger Corman's influence on American film goes far beyond his own energetic, creative low-budget movies. He is arguably one of Hollywood's most gifted and masterful film makers.
