The International student film Festival

The International Student Film Festival, Tel-Aviv, is one of the largest festivals in the world for student films, and is considered one of the most important in this field.

Every two years, in the month of June, hundreds of students, lecturers and well-known guests of honour from the first line of the world cinema industry, gather in Tel-Aviv for a week of rich and intensive fresh young cinema, and for a unique cultural gathering.

Hundreds of films, premiere screenings, fascinating cinematic events, workshops, conferences and special projects take place alongside each other, inviting thousands of visitors to the cinematheque theatres daily.

The International Student Film Festival is run and produced since 1986 by film students from the Tel-Aviv University, and has gathered in its 20 years of existence much prestige and reputation.

The Festival's Goals
  • Film and Other Voices - The festival gives the highest priority to allowing an extraordinary stage for exposure of student film creations from all over the world, including countries whose filmic industry is in its very beginning.
  • An International Home for Students - The festival aspires to be a permanent meeting place for the bringing together of young people from different cultures, bridging over cultural gaps and developing tolerance through cinema.
  • The Israel You Didn't Know - We see the festival as a unique cultural and social means to presenting a different Israel to the world, Israel which supports and invests in pluralism, culture and equal opportunity.
  • Professional Development - The festival takes special notice in organizing events, master classes and professional workshops with top filmmakers with the purpose of allowing the participants a unique experience and a professional leap.
  • Promotion of Israeli Cinema - Through the festival's competitions, gatherings and events, we can allow for an exposure of tomorrow's generation of Israeli cinema to potential investors, possible collaborations and significant career-advancing opportunities.
  • A Cultural Celebration for the General Public - The festival enjoys a wide range of visitors, from all levels of population and different areas of the country. We see a great significance in the existence of such a cultural event, which offers visitors fascinating contents in the field of cinema in particular and of culture in general.
